SMART CONTACT LENSES ARE COMING

The new decade has only just become and we get another glimpse into new sci fi technology. Something akin to Google Glass, this new tech will let you discreetly compute when going about your daily life. This new eye wear called Mojo Lens is considered to be the first “true smart contact lens.”

These futuristic lenses are still a prototype under development. Developed by a venture-backed Silicon Valley startup called Mojo Vision. Hopefully they dont rush them to market and are well tested. Last thing we need is a mass recall for blinding customers. It may sound as if these lenses wont be made be reality for another decade but that is far from true. The Mojo Lens is expected to be released to the public in merely two years.

Soon anyone will be able to wear these lenses even if they dont need them to help see. This is better for the consumer because even if I did not need glasses I would want to be able to use these. I myself have never wore contact lenses so I can see it being hard to adjust my new found bionic eyes. There is also claim that this new tech can allow you to see in the dark. Having inconspicuous night vision can come in real handy when the power goes out.

In terms of guaranteed comfort there is no way to tell just yet. These are made like your standard everyday lens so they should feel quite natural. The lens is made so that it does not touch the cornea wich will provide extra comfort. You can use saline drops for these lens wich makes sense because you would want to get a shock on your eye. These contact lense will be custom fitted and prescribed by your optometrist just like regular prescription eyewear.

There is no word on how much these lenses will cost you. This is new tech and the fact that its basically a computer for your eyes. So with that in mind I would have to guess these will cost you a hefty price. Though only time will tell until we know the full details. I think these will help out society a lot. With enough tweaking and fine tuning we can ditch our tablets and use our eyes.
